I'll sing of a duo whose work you all know.
They started composing a long time ago.
Their names may escape you, but never their songs:

Those collab'rative geniuses, Trad and Anon.

They weren't as successful as Lerner and Lowe,
Or Rogers and Hammerstein's many a show.
Though Gilbert and Sullivan's work we all know,
They're none as prolific as Trad and Anon.

They don't seek publicity, shun the limelight,
Don't care if you get notes and lyrics quite right.
You'll hear them in song circles night after night,
The great compositions of Trad and Anon.

But BMI's lawyer is being a jerk,
And writing my own stuff is just too much work.
