The Bellagio Hotel, located in the middel of the strip in Las Vegas is quite possibly the biggest and fanciest Hotel in the world.
It is totally awe inspiring. If you every decide to vacation in Las Vegas The Bellagio is a must see. I have heard the the fountains out front cost over 30 million dollars alone.
This is a picture of the Swimming Pool at The Bellagio taken from the Main Balcony, This alone is enough to make any couple fall in Love. Too bad is was a bit too cold to go swimming while we were there. I would have loved to have taken a midnight dip in this cement pond. :)
Across the street from the Bellagio is the Paris Hotel. As you can see, most of the Hotels in Las Vegas take on themes and they certainly spare no expense in the design or construction. An elevator takes people up to the top of the Eifel Tower where a breath taking view of Las Vegas awaits
This is another shot of the Paris Hotel, taken from in front of the Bellagio. The water you see here is the Bellagio Water Fountain. The fountain is choreographed to symphony music that is pipelined through a high quality sound system that surrounds the entire fountain. The fountain is lit up with lights as it goes through many changes. A lot like watching a Ballet. Too bad it was too windy while we were there, because of the wind they were not running the fountain, but it was still a very romantic walk around fountain as symphony music played in the background.
Still another view of the Las Vegas strip looking over the Bellagio Fountain. In the distance you will see Ceasars Palace. Another exquisite Hotel.
This is a Picture of one of the many Castle Towers at the Excalibur Hotel. This is the Hotel that we stayed at. We chose it for its medievel theme that appeared very romantic to us. The Camelot Steakhouse inside Excalibur is the place to go if you feel like being waited on like Royalty. The food there is excellent. But a bit pricy if you are on a budget. Paula was presented with roses as we were seated, and the entire time we had two waitresses at our beckon call. Our food was served with silver covers and once everything was in place, the covers were all removed simultaneously.
Very Impressive.
In the distance you can see the Flamingo Hilton. This picture was taken outside the main entrance to Ceasars Palace.
This is New York New York, the tallest Hotel in Las Vegas. Outside you can see they have a roller coaster. I am a big roller coaster fan. I give this one a thumbs up. Paula kept her eyes closed though. :) Inside you will find Coney Island, a great place for the kids to play, or to win your sweetheart a stuffed Teddy Bear.
We plan on staying at New York New York next time we visit Las Vegas.
This picture was taken from the skywalk that connects The Excalibur with Mandalay Bay and the Luxor Hotel. In the distance you can see the Luxor and behind the Luxor Tower is the famous MGM Grand Hotel. They were holding the ESPN ESPY awards at the MGM Grand while we were in town.
This is Harrahs Hotel, Paula did very well here at the slot machines. I found out that as long as she was playing the slots, I could drink for free. :)
This is a picture of the southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard, AKA the strip. just behind us is the Stratosphere, on top of the Stratosphere is a small roller coaster and a slingshot ride that shoots you way up in the air. The Stratosphere is the tallest tower in Las Vegas. We wanted to go up on top, but the wind was gusting at about 40 mph on the ground, so we new it had to be tremendously strong up on top. to the bottom right of this picture is Paula.
And here we are, at the very southern end of the Strip is probably the most famous wedding chapel in the world. The Chapel of Love and the place that Paula and I got married. Over the years many a song has been written about this place. This picture was taken on saturday, we were on our way there to go through a rehearsal for our wedding which took place that Monday on Valentines day of 2000.
That is Paula leading the way. :)
