The repeater now in service is a home built unit with output of 40 watts. It incorporates Hamtronics receiver and exciter kits. These were assembled by N5KWN on his scratched up old desk. The P.A. is from a 50 watt G.E. mobile transciever. The controller, with voice I.D. and a 100 number speed dial phone patch is a Cat 300 DX. We also have a backup G.E. repeater installed in the same cabinet, ready to go if needed.
The repeater is located 5 miles East of New Waverly, Texas. The antenna is approx. 450' above ground level and approx. 900' above sea level. We, the users, are very fortunate to have such a good site for our repeater. I hope that you enjoy this little page and have fun on the repeater.
We all owe a very big "thanks" to Joe, N5HGL for
all the technical help that he gave us while we were building our new repeater.
