Ground Control Tips

What the Ground Controller actually controls: The Ground Controller controls aircraft on the taxiways and aprons of the airport.

Where to Find the Ground Control FrequencyAlmost any NOAA aeronautical chart or approach plate will have this frequency.

What if you have no frequency info?  Well, almost all ground control frequencies are between 121 and 122 MHz with the vast majority on 121.700, 121.800 and 121.900. In fact, these frequencies are so commonly used that arriving aircraft may simply be told "Ground point-niner" by the Tower to indicate 121.900. Most controlled airports simulcast their ground control and clearance delivery frequencies on 348.600 for military aircraft..

Other Tips:

Ground Control is often simulcast with Clearance Delivery, and even with the Tower. At my local airport, all three are simulcast after midnight.
