My Icom 756 is my latest pride and joy.  Previous to that I used an IC-735 so this has been quite an improvement.  Much of my CW contesting has also been done with an IC-761 on loan during certain weekends from my friend Jeff, K4JNY.

The 756 was purchased in February of 97 and has been used for contesting in the ARRL phone weekend, WPX CW and again during the June VHF QSO party  by my friend Joe, KE4WUT.   I was also planning to use it during Field Day 97 but even with the coax unhooked it, with a loud report, was smoked by a lightning strike 45 minutes before the contest started.....

Now back from the Doctor, it seems to be functioning as normal.  This fall I have used the rig in SS CW and Phone.  I also used it at the 40 meter position during a multi-multi effort at NQ4I for CQWW CW.   The rig performed well and seemed to stand up well in the high rf environment.
