SFFMA at a glance:

  • meet 2nd Monday of each month, 7:30pm, at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Monroe Street, Rockville, in the Cafeteria on the T-Level (parking in the underground garage on Level G2);
  • weekly Thia/Sushi session on Sunday evenings;
  • 250+ members - Novice to Extra and unlicensed Associates;
  • open repeaters on 147.000 MHz (-600) and ;
  • telephone autopatch (closed) privileges, Tech - Extra;
  • free Amateur Radio license classes open to all;
  • cooperation with RACES, ARES, the American Red Cross, CERT, and other Miami-Dade County government agencies for public service and emergency communications, ;
  • SFFMA News by e-mail and news by mail;
  • APRS Digipeater on 144.39 MHz for WIDE3-3 coverage in MC;
  • Various nets and on air meetings throughout the week and on various frequencies;
  • speakers, programs, or presentations at many meetings;
  • provide communications for public service events;
  • Amateur Radio Field Day participation;
  • Volunteer Examiners and coordinated exam sessions;
  • annual Membership Directory with periodic updates;

You do not have to be a member of SFFMA to attend meetings. You do not have to be a member of SFFMA to use the repeater.

We do, however, invite you to join us by simply filling out an application form and paying the proper membership dues shown on the form at time of
application. This can be done at any meeting or mail your application and dues to:
South Florida FM Association, Inc., P.O. BOX 430025, Miami, FL 33243-0025. Your application must be presented by the membership committee to the membership at two meetings (usually the two immediately following receipt of the application) to be voted into the club.

Upon becoming a member, you will receive a Directory of MARC members and a membership card showing the codes needed to access the repeater autopatch.
