Shows two of Al Bulin's paddle designs. Al lives in Arkansas; he enjoys creating one-of-a-kind paddles to display in his house (his wife also enjoys looking at them). Paddles use magnetic attraction or repulsion instead of springs, and make use of a variety of materials, including brass, aluminum, and steel. One of the most striking features of these ddesigns is the machined "swirl" base finish. Some folks might notice the carefully shaped and polished fingerpieces, which usually use rare wood selected to show off the grain. The paddles also utilize sealed ball bearings, and exhibit some of the talents AB5RT has practiced in the gunsmithing trade.
