The rules and more info were provided here thanks to K9JK. Distance scoring has been used since 2010, so everyone was urged to use their 6-digit grid square to help generate accurate distance calculations.
My operating location was in the Moosic Mountains near Carbondale, PA. I was unable to locate the road that leads to the peak of the desired summit, so I set up 300 feet lower on the south side of the mountain. Signals to the N through NE were affected by the mountain and by QRN from commercial installations a few yards away. There are "tree attenuators" in the other directions, but not too bad in some cases. Most contacts (81 percent) were made with stations in adjacent grids, with distances in the 100-200 km range. But then VA3ELE/R came in from 440 km away (274 miles) from FN03 and provided my best DX for this event as well as outdoing the best DX from last year's event. This will be the last time using this site, as I have a better site in mind for the next N2SLN/3 grid activation.
