After missing out on my customary full-weekend multioperator experience in June due to a shift change, I decided to get my
revenge by operating the full extent of the September VHF contest with KA2LIM limited-multi. According to several accounts,
propagation in the northeastern US was among the worst in years--no tropo, no evening enhancement, no aurora, and certainly
no sporadic-E. A CME took place Saturday, but it was not earthward-directed. So this contest was a true test of operator
tenacity.
