Illinois Power Trunk Radio Network

Illinois Power has built a rather large State-Wide Trunk Radio
Network based on Motorola Trunk Technology. Like the Ameren
UE Trunk Radio Network, it consists of sites spread out across the
state. The Illinois Power Trunk Radio sites listed on the FCC Licenses
show very inflated ERP Power Levels: 1000-watts. While the licenses
show the actual power levels of 150-watt repeaters. I believe that the
Illinois Power Trunk Sites are using Highly Directional RF Antennas, to
cover patricular areas around the Trasmitter location. Compare this to the
Ameren/UE sites, listing ERP Power Levels of 250-watts, which indicates
to me that the Ameren UE sites are more omni-directional, in coverage.
It doesn't mean that the Ameren Sites are not employing some sort of
Directional antenna system. I feel the Ameren sites are much more omni-
directional, in coverage. The High ERP power levels listed on 'Illinois
Power' Licenses clearly tell me that Directional antennas are in-use at
those sites. Motorola Type II system at each site.
