This is what St Louis's Emergency Sirens look like ; being used
mainly for Tornado Warnings.  Most of them can be found at
city Fire Stations.  Examples of these are:

Christy & S. Kingshighway
Magnolia at Alhambra (near S. Grand & Magnolia)
Manchester Ave near Sublette
McCausland at Hwy 40
Morganford at Haven (Between Holly Hills & Loughborough)
On Donovan, at Watson, Chippewa & Bancroft
S. 7th Street & Shenandoah
S. Compton at N. Dakota (near Virginia & Osceola)
S. Grand & Potomac (near Grand & Gravois)
S. Jefferson at Lasalle
S. Jefferson at Pestalozzi
S. Vandeventer at Forest Park Parkway
Spruce at Tucker

Chrondelet Blvd, just east of Gravois
I-44 & Kingshighway
I-44, just west of Grand Blvd

These sirens are capable of:   Alert Tones & Voice simulcast.
Try listening to one:     '11:00am' on the first Monday of each
month.  And 'Yes', that is a solar panel mounted on the side of
the pole.  :)
