Digital interference from KPNT affects both of the FM stations owned by Talley Broadcasting of Litchfield, IL. WSMI-FM, which will be carrying St. Louis Cardinals baseball starting in the 2006 season, not only suffers from interference from KPNT, but also from WARH 106.5 MHz. The interference to the Stereo pilots of WSMI-FM and WAOX is strongest with the antenna pointed toward KPNT’s transmitter site near Hillsboro, MO (45 miles south of the monitoring location in Hazelwood).

This is the first station of the four-station Emmis cluster to be converted to the low-definition digital technology.
