The Cedar Rapids Bug was offered by Electric Specilities Mfg in Cedar Rapids, IA about 1939. It was available in two models, the Professional (complete with circuit closer), and the Amateur which was also available as a kit and is the only bug known to be offered as a kit. With the Amateur Model you never knew what color the base would be because the buyer picked the color. The kit sold for $2.89 in 1939, the assembled version sold for $7.ØØ
