ANIMAL EVACUATION ADVISORY - 12:55pm PDT - 06-07-2002

From: County of Los Angeles Office of Emergency Management

This is an advisory to the residents of the Lake Hughes, Lake Elizabeth, Leona Valley and Three Points area for Northern Los Angeles County. [see map immediately below]

Due to wildland fires in your area, it is recommended that residents evacuate livestock and pets as a precautionary measure. Antelope Valley Fair Grounds is set up as an evacuation center for your animals. Residents needing additional information for livestock evacuation may call Los Angeles County Animal control at (661) 257-3191.

There is no need for evacuation of residents at this time. Should conditions change and evacuations become necessary, residents will be advised to do so.

Again, this is an advisory only for residents in the Lake Hughes, Lake Elizabeth, Leona Valley and Three Points area, providing them the opportunity to voluntarily evacuate their pets and livestock to the Antelope Valley Fair Grounds.

8 air miles north of Ojai, in the Ventura County backcountry of Los Padres National Forest. Fire is in the proximity of State Highway 33, approximately midway between Highway 101 and Highway 166. Ojai is approximately 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
