Today the world, in all its colors
Smiles its special smile for me
And tells me that hostility
Is eased, forget the misery
Of yesterday.
Enrobed in special jewels and riches
Evening stars conspire with me
Of living as it ought to be -
Of loving as it could not be
'Til yesterday.
The golden hills and amber valleys
Turn their face for all to see
Enticing into reverie
The world (or is it only me?)
Since yesterday.
And when the love which lifts my spirit
Ceases to entangle me
In dreams I know can never be
I'll hunger for the memory
Of yesterday.
