Wind And Rain

Let the rain be falling 'round us,
Still I'll look into your eyes
To see the warm, too warm hello
And the deepest dark goodbye
And the questioning Where Have We Met Before -
The lingering evasiveness of love.

Let the wind sweep in behind us,
Still I'll hold you in my arms
To feel the quickening of breath
And the throbbing of your heart
And the questioning How Can We Live Apart -
The flowing warmth that fills me at your touch.

Let the clouds explode above us,
Still I'll kiss your trembling lips.
Through the changes that are life
Must we, in each other's arms
Be oblivious of everything to come
As wind and rain on canvas overhead.
