From: "Bill, N4QA" To: "Low Power Amateur Radio Discussion" Subject: Rock-Mite-20 CQ from the mobile...answered! Date: Tuesday, October 01, 2002 5:47 PM Been running the RM-20 in the mobile since Monday morning. No luck 'til this afternoon, parked in the driveway. Running 300 mW out to the Hustler on the rear bumper of the pickup, called CQ near the QRP freq and was answered by Juan, KG4FSN, in Coral Springs, FL... DX of 752 miles, as the crow flies. Just prior to this QSO, tweaked the whip to eliminate the 70 mW of reflected power that had just been heating up the 2N2222A final... Juan was running 4 W from the Emtech NW-20 to a dipole and was 559 here in SW VA. Juan gave me 529...not bad (if I do say so myself) for 300 mW to an antenna which is only about eight feet long...not counting the truck body :) Maybe soon I'll make a Q zipping along I-81 to/from work... See y'all out there! 73.
