Marquette Repeater Association Fall 2024 Meeting of 10-31-2024

The meeting was called to order at 7:38PM by President Andy, KB8PPE.

In attendance: Andy-KB8PPE, Mike-KE8IL (Treasurer and Repeater Trustee),
Judy-N8ITK, Al-W8FYZ (Secretary), Gary-KD8OXD, Mike-KD8JIR.

Via Zoom: Lucille-KD8PTE, Eric-N8RRZ, Bill-KE8KCA

The Minutes of the last meeting were read by Secretary Al-W8FYZ. Motion
to approve by Eric-N8RRZ, Second by Bill-KE8KCA, Approved.

 

Treasurer's Report:
Motion to approve by Mike-KD8JIR, Second by Eric-N8RRZ, Approved.

Old Business:
Al-W8FYZ recapped old business which was similar to previous meeting:
Controller not done yet, Electrical from WHWL building to old ATandT shack
where repeaters are housed has not been changed. Link still in works for
connection of Trenary 7.03 repeater to MRA 97 repeater. No immediate plan
to change out 440 antenna. Six Meter Repeater antenna purchased and
presently in storage at Al-W8FYZ's house. Installation still planned this Fall.

New Business:
Eric-N8RRZ made the following suggestions and Motion to make Membership
operations easier for Members: That the MRA create an Venmo account to
take in Dues, That a Gmail address be created to represent the MRA for
official business such as Meeting Minutes and Dues notices and that Google
Docs be utilized to create a Membership Database available to Members to
check on their Dues payments and membership status. Eric also offered to
assist Mike KE8IL in these matters.

Motion to approve by Andy-KB8PPE, Second by Gary-KD8OXD, Approved.

Al-W8FYZ mentioned that the 146.700 Cooks Repeater is now owned/operated
by Todd Noordyk, KF8BRW, and he offered to link it to the HARA Link system.

Mike-KE8IL inquired as to HARA's intent to provide ARES resources to post
at Voting locations throughout the area. It was clarified that the ARES EC
planned on posting at a location and he asked for volunteers to be available
if resources were needed to post at other locations. Possible unrest was
anticipated at voting locations and this was requested by the Marquette
County Emergency Manager Brian Hummel.

Al-W8FYZ made a motion to Adjourn, Second by Mike-KE8IL. Approved and
the meeting was adjourned at 8:22PM.
