Club History
The club was formed in January, 2000 by a group of amateur radio operators who were members of the Jaffrey Y2K Emergency Communications Committee. This group helped design and implement an all volunteer emergency communication system consisting of amateur radio operators and non-amateur volunteers for the town of Jaffrey, New Hampshire. Thankfully, the Y2K bug did not bite, but the members thought it would be a good idea to keep the group together in some form to help the town when emergencies happen. The decision was made to expand the group by inviting hams from other towns in the surrounding area to join.

The club's primary focus is providing Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) to the towns and communities in the Monadnock Area of New Hampshire. Almost all of the members are registered and trained ARES operators. The club helps maintain and operate an ARES radio station located in the Jaffrey Police Station which consists of a 2m/70cm voice station and a 2m packet station which is connected into the New Hampshire ARES network.
