From Edmund's Tump GW/SW-020, we drove around the winding lanes in an overall north-easterly direction.  We located the minor road that runs north-south to the East of the hill, and drove up the steep access road for the residence and works on the hillside.  We parked at SO442254 just by the works unit and set off on foot up the hill, past the house and out onto the common.

Once on the common, there was a clear path through the vegetation leading up to the considerable red brick shelter at the summit.  As ugly as it was, it did afford some shelter from the cool wind on this early evening and provide a bench upon which we could sit while activating and enjoy a fine view outwards.  Jimmy and I each made the requisite four contacts, and finished off our flask of mulligatawny soup.  The descent was fairly rapid.  We drove in the general direction of our intended final summit of the day - Ruardean Hill G/WB-021 - and Welsh Bicknor Youth Hostel where we were booked in for the evening.  As soon as we found a pub that was doing food, we pulled in to grab a meal and a pint, before driving on.
