I have written a few programs that, although intended primarily for my own use, may be of use to other Hams. I beleive the programs that perform calculations are accurate, however, I do not guarantee that the answers given are correct.

I will do my best to keep the latest versions available here. If you find a 'problem' with any of my programs or you would like to see changes, let me know. Problems I'll fix ASAP, changes will be done as time permits.

All of the programs are written in either VB3 or VB6 and require the Visual Basic runtime DLL's. Most computers will already have these installed, for those that get error messages when trying to run the programs, the DLL's can be downloaded here. They should be placed in the windows system directory.

  • Locator.exe (12k)(VB3) - Use this program to convert Lat/Long to 6 digit locator's

  • Distance.exe (33k)(VB3) - Shows the distance, bearing and compass heading from your locator.

  • Prefix.exe (33k)(VB3) - Callsign Prefix identifier, the prefix list is updatable using a text editor.

  • Coax_calc.exe (24k)(VB6) - This program will calculate co-ax lengths in quarter wavelengths for a given frequency, and the velocity factor corrected length for the selected co-ax type
