Taken from deck of HMS Jupiter in Gibraltar 1979. The ship in the picture carries the number D12..cant remember which destroyer it is.(HMS KENT ?? ) Quality of photo aint to good but I have had them hidden away since they where taken hihi. |
This for any one who know's it is definatley not GIB. It was taken in Bermuda again in 1979 I think, we where west indies guard ship. We visited St Thomas, St Kitts, Nassau bahamas, Jacksonville in Florida, Savanah in Georgia, Belize, Puerto rico and a few other places i cant recall. All in all about 3 1/2 months in the carribean. We where in St Vincent when the british flag was lowered and the island got its independance. |
Told you earlier us "Stokers" liked a drink. This was in Istanbul Turkey I think again it would be about 1979, I spent a lot of time at sea that year. This was also a 3 1/2 month trip to the med. Italy, Turkey, Spain, Gib, Romania in the black sea, France. |
We made those boilers steam hard and we worked hard. So we socialised hard hihi.. |
