SP4FCP

I was born in 1969, the year when the first man walked on the Moon. Radio and communication has fascinated me from my early years. When I was five I dismantled an old TV set from 50's and put it to pieces. I enjoyed it, really! Especially the tubes (valves) have some sort of magic as they glowe beautifully .....

I passed my radio-amateur exam in 2001and acquired my first amateur licence in January 2002 with the callsign SP4FCP. CW exam for Class 1 Licence was still compulsory at that time. The above picture was taken in 2002.

My first HF borrowed radio was Kenwood TS-120 and President Lincoln (10m) - shown on the picture. The first SW receiver was R-311 (made in 1969), a Soviet military tube (valve) radio. It is a very heavy and still operational piece of equipment!

I acquired my reciprocital British licence in November 2005 and had worked for a short time as MW0DYI from a beautiful place in South Wales (UK) - Carmarthen. Then I moved to Newark (M0DYI), from Newark to Wrexham and now I am in York.
