WPX SSB 2002 tale

Everything started after asking LZ1UO if I can use his station for the next wpx test. He said: "NO PROBLEM" -and I was happy!

It was time for testing my RIG with his PA and ant. We(me,lz1aq, lz1uo) went for the RDX test(2 weeks before the wpx). His village
is located 50km from Sofia so when I realized that I forgot the power cord for my RIG I felt miserable. Anyway I found that he had
2nd and which was OK with the ic756pro so we put everything in place. I started calling CQ about 17:00 local time and after a few
minutes I was happy to find that my rate was 200+.
Half an hour later the rig stopped switching the PA from transmitting to receiving. Hmm..... now that was strange. We measured
the output of the switching relay and it was in shortcut? After turning the rig on and off nothing happened! We gave up and went
back home.

The plan was to repair the rig after one week cause we had to visit Turkey .

After one week and one before the test we switched the RIG on and again measured the relay: it was clicking without any
problems!? Again strange. A few minutes were enough to decide that my father didn't need to open the newly bought rig so
I was happy:) He too I believe. So everything is ready for the contest then? Let's make a jump through the time....

Here we are 29/03/2002 32:59. Still no strategy but the rig is working fine.
Started calling CQ and till 10:00utc didn't stop. 1034 QSO's in the log, not bad!

Had some 4h sleep and again CQ..ok 59 .. CQ 59.... you know how it is.
Finished at 07:27 on the next day(2133qso's). Boy was I tired? You bet. I barely could understand what was I hearing and if I heard
something I had many mistakes(not to many I hope:)).

Woke up at 15:20 quite refreshed and again CQ..CQ.. This time with some S&P. Stopped for a "deadly" dinner for about 40min and again
contesting till 23:59 on 31/03/2002. At 0000 all was over. 2458QSO's and a lot of multis(888).
All was great except of the "feeling" I didn't know how many countries I have worked. For this reason WPX contest is not my favorite one
for sure.
