The Tempo AC One power supply is one of several power supplies that I have restored. It is the AC power supply for the Tempo One transceiver, which is also known as the Yaesu FT-200 and a version in Europe, the Sommerkamp FT-250. The High voltage B+ is set by transformer taps for +600 VDC. Higher and lower voltages can be set, but are not recommended for these transceivers.

For this unit, I "re-stuffed" the original electrolytic capacitors that sit on top of the chassis. After removal, I cut the cans near the bottom, separated the pieces, and pulled out the insides. I then drilled holes in the bottom insulator of the cans and snapped in the replacement caps, which were much smaller. I used epoxy and a cardboard sleeve to fill in the difference in diameter. One of the caps was multi-section. I replaced it with two radial electrolytics of the next higher standard value. I wrapped the capacitor cans in HVAC adhesive aluminum foil. I then labeled each of the capacitors with the value, voltage rating and temperature rating. I was able to use the original support clamps. I also replaced all of the diodes and resistors in the unit. Finally, since the original diagram of the power output connection was scarred, I created a new one from the manual.
