Prayer Letter December 2000
Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends,
This morning I was talking with James (soon to be 3 years old) about Christmas and what it means. He does not remember what we did at Christmas last year, though I remember he enjoyed it. I told him that Christmas is Jesus' birthday. James responded with, "are we going to have a birfday cake?" I thought what a wonderful idea. So often we associate Christmas with all the gifts (which is appropriate considering God's gift) but we forget that Jesus was physically born that day. So this year we just might have a "birfday" cake at our Christmas dinner. Now, how to put an eternity's worth of candles on it?

God has blessed us this past month financially in a special way. One Saturday afternoon in early November I started praying for $600 that we would need for the next couple of months. That evening we were going to stay in the Prophet's Chamber of the church in which Stephanie grew up. The next day in Sunday School class the teacher asked me to give a brief testimony. I mentioned how that God has taken care of us very well. I knew that was true, but I also knew that I was still praying for $600. No one in the church, except the Pastor, knew that we were going to be there Sunday morning. Someone in the church gave us a gift of $1000! This is almost double what I had started praying for less than 24 hours before.
This is another confirmation to me that God will take care of us. I realize that there may be times that He does not supply in this quick and multiplied manner, but it will be a help to me to know that He could, if He so chooses.

We have received our prayer cards. Please use this as a reminder to pray for us. If you would like to have more, please let me know by either calling or writing. I would be glad to supply as many as you can use.

I had the opportunity to talk with two Deaf brother's this last month about their salvation. It was good to hear their testimony of being saved a couple of summers ago at a summer camp. Though they do not go to a doctrinally sound church, they were sure, and clear, about their salvation.
Though we do not have many meetings this month, we are staying busy. We are putting together a slide presentation and scheduling more meetings for later in the spring.

We already have 12% of our support. A few churches are considering us for support right now and we will be in several churches in January and February seeking support. We are praying that we will have close to 25% of our support promised by early next year. At this rate, it is possible to have all of our support before the end of 2001! We want to be on the field in God's timing, but my request is to be headed that way as quickly as possible.

Please continue to pray for us. I know you do. Our current requests would be that we will stay excited about our future ministry while carrying out the ministry we have immediately before us, and that our monthly support will continue to come quickly. These things will only come to pass through prayer of friends like you.

Sincerely,
David and Stephanie Peach
