Although I haven't been trackside much lately,
I'm a railfan and love shooting video
of trains when time permits. Some of my videos are over 30
years old, back when I carried a big camcorder on my shoulder.
I have a Little Free Library, and I love to go around and visit
other little libraries in the area.
I'm a radio collector (old and new) and I have radios from the late
1930s to present manufacture. I love demonstrating them on video
(when I get them working).
I am an AM broadcast band "DXer" (I try to see how many different
stations I can definitively hear and add to my log book. When I was a
kid, listening to AM radio at night was one of the things I loved to
do, and I never outgrew it. I use a Software Defined Radio (usually a
Microtelecom Perseus) and I often upload video/audio
of my receptions.
Not many of us live in a place where a parade comes by right in front
of our houses, but nearby Bryan Station High School has it's homecoming
parade each autumn (except for this year due to the pandemic). I can
shoot video
right from my front yard.
