Years ago, Conrad, W4RCY hung the name "Flubug" on me to seperate me from the other Bills on the Jokers' net... So I am better known as "Flubug". My wife Alice and I, have lived at this QTH here in Lynchburg Virginia for many years. In the process we have raised a family here... two girls and one boy.

My W4FLU call is my original call dating back to 1955. My first rig was a Hallicrafter receiver and was a surplus US Army ARC-5 transmitter operating on 40 meters. I still operate a simple country station with my old trusty Kenwood TS-440S as my transceiver... but that is still a big improvement over the original rig. I usually run 100 Watts into a simple dipole fed with homebrew ladder line. I try to keep the antenna out of the tree limbs and have managed to get very good results over the years.

I'm a retired machinist, who some say makes useless things in my garage work shop. I'll be dropping E-mail to various Jokers as the need arises, now that I have everyone's email address.

In times past, I was an ardent deer hunter but now I am satisfied observing wildlife back of my house. Our house backs up on some very natural property.

I'm glad the Jokers have this website. It's interesting to get a better better idea about who you are talking to on the net.
