At the invitation of the "Supper's" we accepted a morning date to go hiking. All we knew was that we were to meet at Sabino Canyon at 9:30am. The weather was nice with temperatures in the high 40's. Clear blue skies as usual would be the back drop to this hike.

After the usual greetings we all started toward the trailhead. Blackett's Ridge was the intended target. Neither Jane nor I knew that we would be treated to one of the most fascinating treks so far. The end of the trail is 4400 feet high and to get there all you have to do is hike 3.1 miles from the Sabino Canyon visitor center. We arrived at the top around 11:30am and spent a half hour savoring the views. I found it fascinating to watch two hawks dance in the sky above the desert, this time I was watching them from above. What a treat. All in all it took us about 5 hours to finish a 6 mile hike. It was an unforgettable experience. I know we were all a little closer to God.
