6m allocation for India's HAMs
------------------------------
The Southgate ARC writes on his website (http://www.southgatearc.org/news)
that the 6m band has finally been allocated for amateur radio use in India.
Prasad,VU2PTT, contest manager of the Amateur Radio Society of India (ARSI)
writes that HAMs are allowed to work with 25 watts on 50-54 MHz.
The licensing structure has been rationalized with only two classes of
license (General and Restricted) and one can choose if he acquires the
licenses for either 20 years or for the lifetime of the holder.
The callsign block VU2 is reserved for the General license class and
the callsign block VU3 for the (lower) Restricted class.
