CE - CHILE
Al,CE1/K7CA, will be QRV again from Chile between Dec 20 and Feb 23.
Al will be very active on 160m again and intends to take part in the
Stew Perry Topband Distance Challenge and the CQ 160m CW Contest. He is
running 1 kW into a 3L SteppIR Yagi and a vertical for the lowbands.
Al is working almost only in CW, but SSB QSOs may be arranged via sked.
Unfortunately his QSL manager NW7O confirms only direct.
CO - CUBA, NA-015
Eduardo,CO8LY, is a proud owner of a 2ele wire beam for 80m now. His
antenna is mainly beaming towards North America and Europe. If you are
interested to arrange a sked with Eduardo please send him an e-mail to:
[email protected] Eduardo is also building an antenna for 160m
but had to adjourn these activities because he has to care for his wife
who got cancer. QSLs for CO8LY via EA7ADH - unfortunately only direct.
JD1/OG - OGASAWARA ISLAND, AS-031
Harry,JG7PSJ (JD1BMH), and Makoto,JI5RPT (JD1BLY), will show up again
from Chichijima Island (AS-031) working in CW/SSB/RTTY on all bands
from 160m-10m between Dec 27 and Jan 1.

KH9 - WAKE ISLAND, OC-053
The stay of OM Colin,KH9/WA2YUN, on Wake (OC-053) has been extended by
one year so that he is activating OC-053 (USI OI-012S, WLOTA LH-2293)
during his very limited spare time until the end of 2010. Usually Colin
can be found in the ANZA net on 14183 kHz starting around 0600 UTC.
QSL via K2PF, bureau ok.
ST - SUDAN
Several members of the "Khartoum Sea Scouts Radio Club" (ST2KSS) are
active as ST26ASC until Jan 28, 2010. This special callsign is derived
from the "26th Arab Scouts Conference" taking place in Sudan from
Jan 22-28. QSLs only direct via ST2M.
VP8/A - ANTARCTICA, AN-006
Andrey,UT6UE, and Yurij,UT6UF, are on board the "S/Y Kupava" and on
the way to the Ukrainian research station Vernadsky Base located on
Galindez Island (IOTA AN-006). They belong to a film crew which plans
to do a documentation about Antarctica. So far, it is not known when
they are going to arrive there and under what callsign they will become
QRV. For UT6UE/mm and UT6UF/mm please listen on following frequencies:
3645, 3720, 7090, 7130, 7185, 14140, 14260 and 14345 kHz between 2200

YJ - VANUATU, OC-035
Nao,JK1FNL, will show up as YJ0NA from Port Vila (OC-035) running
100 watts into wire antennas on 40m-6m between Dec 28 and Jan 4.

5N - NIGERIA
Nick,LZ1QK, was on the air as 5N/LZ1QK since October 2008. He has now
received four new callsigns which he will use from different locations:
5N3LQK, 5N3WQK, 5N4LQK and 5N4WQK. He will use the special call 5N50K
as well next year. This callsign stands for 50 years of independence of
Nigeria. His QSL manager is LZ1CL. As we reported earlier the DXCC Desk
in Newington has not received any papers so far, so that his QSL cards
are still not accepted for DXCC credit.
5R - MADAGASCAR, AF-013
Sat,G4OHX, will stay on Madagascar (AF-013, WLOTA L2455) from Dec 28
until Jan 3 and will be active as 5R8HX mainly in CW. Sam will be QRV
as ZS5/G4OHX from South Africa until Jan 17, 2010, afterwards.
QSLs for both callsigns only direct via his homecall G4OHX.
MEXICO, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
Some members of the "Grupo DXXE" (http://www.dxxe.org) are celebrating
the 5th anniversary of the "Grupo DXXE" by activating the special call
4A1DXXE from different locations in SSB/CW/RTTY/PSK31 on all bands
until Dec 31. QSLs should be sent direct or via bureau to their manager
N7RO (confirmations as well via LoTW).

Arnold J. Polsbroek (PZ1AP), Nikolai P. Esipenko (RA3XG),
Karlis Sleckaitis (YL2MD), Antonio Scolamiero (YV4DDK).
PIRATE: Nenad, VE3EXY, reported that the activity of C31LJ/m on Dec 8/9 was
the work of pirate once again. It is already the second time in 2009
that C31LJ was on the air illegally. Nenad has not been in Andorra
during the whole year 2009.
