C5 - GAMBIA
Meanwhile more details were published about the DXpedition to Gambia by
Eric,SM1TDE, which was announced in last DXNL and started on Dec 10.
Eric is doing some activities on the radio while spending his holidays
in Gambia until Jan 3, 2010. You can find him signing C56SMT in CW
(2 kHz from the band edge), RTTY and SSB.
He prefers QSL cards via bureau to his homecall.
J2 - DJIBOUTI
According to his own statement Olivier,J28KO, is the only active radio
amateur in Djibouti working in the digital modes PSK, RTTY, Olivia,
Hell, MFSK16 and SSTV at the moment. He has been spotted in RTTY on 20m
around 1500 UTC. QSL via F6DKI, direct (IRCs only, no money bills),
via bureau, LoTW or eQSL.
J6 - ST LUCIA, NA-108
John,VE8EV, plans to show up from St. Lucia (NA-108) signing J68/VE8EV
from Dec 18-20. He will work in SSB on all bands and plans to take part
in the RAC Canada Winter Contest most of the time. He asks for many
calls and stations outside of Canadas shall give him a report and a
serial number. QSLs via his homecall.
OX - GREENLAND, NA-018
OX3QM is the callsign of Fred,KB4DMQ, who is working at the USAF base
in Thule for one year now. Fred is using a FT-7 and a wire antenna
hanging out of his window but he hopes to improve his antenna soon.
His preferred frequencies are 7005 and 7195 kHz.
QSLs via his homecall but the cards have to be printed first.
P2 - PAPUA NEW GUINEA, OC-034
Annas,MM0GQA, will be on the air as P29VAA for the next three to six
months. He is working for an aid organization and will have only little
time for our common hobby. QSL via his homecall.
VK - AUSTRALIA, OC-001
Uwe,DL4IAL, writes: "I will be active mobile and portable as DL4IAL/VK
mainly in SSB on 20m while travelling through Australia from Dec 21
until Jan 9, 2010. My trip will lead me to New South Wales, Australian
Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory and
Queensland. QSLs direct or via bureau to DL4IAL."
VP8/A - ANTARCTICA, AN-016
Mike,RW1AI, has left St. Petersburg on Nov 1 onboard the research
vessel "Akademik Fedorov" heading for Antarctica. If everything works
like planned he will arrive at the "Progress" station around Dec 16
and will work there throughout the year 2010. He will be active from
the clubstation R1ANP. QSLs for this operation via RW1AI.
VY1 - CANADA
KL7JR, also known as "Yukon John", is going to become active from the
rare Canadian territory Yukon from Dec 17-22. He will show up as VY1RST
from Destruction Bay using homebrew antennas in SSB on 80m-10m.
Skeds may be arranged via his e-mail address ([email protected]).
John will also try to activate Jacquot Island in the Kluane Lake which
would be a first for the Canadian Island award (CISA).
QSLs only direct with 2 US $ return postage via following address:
John F Reisenauer Jr, 3705 Arctic Blvd 1830, Anchorage, AK 99503, USA.
3D2 - FIJI, OC-016
Jim,WB2TJO, is in Fiji since Dec 8 but still waits for his licence.
He plans to activate the islands Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni (all
IOTA OC-016) until Jan 6. Jim is using an Icom 706 MkIIG with wire
antennas and his preferred bands are 40m and 20m.
5N - NIGERIA
5N3LQK is the new callsign of ex-5N/LZ1QK. Please consider that QSLs of
5N/LZ1QK are momentarily not accepted for DXCC credit because the DXCC
Desk has no documents seen yet. The same applies to QSLs of 5N3LQK.
---
Ivan,OM3CGN, who was active as 5N7MGI before has now got a shorter
callsign as requested by himself. He is now signing 5N7M and uses a
3ele yagi for 40m-10m and a vertical for the lowbands. He will also
try to put up a larger spiderbeam vertical but is still confronted
with the problem not having enough space.
QSLs for 5N7M and 5N7MGI via his homecall, but please be patient
because the QSL cards still have to be printed.

------------------------------
The international group which plans to become active as 3W6C from Con Co
Island (AS-185) from Apr 10-18, 2010, is looking for anexperienced CW
operator. The DXpedition will take place under the responsibility of the
"Helvetia Telegraphy Club" and they stressed that the OP does not need to
speak German. Find more information about this DXpedition on their homepage
(http://www.3w6c.qrv.ch) and if you feel like joining the team please send

6m band released in Bahrain
---------------------------
The frequency range of 50.0 to 50.5 MHz has been allocated exclusively to
amateur radio on a primary basis and 50.5 to 52.0 MHz on a secondary basis.
Moreover there are now additional frequencies on 40m and 160m, as well as
on 430 MHz and higher frequencies.
30m band released in India
------------------------------
The frequency range 10.100 to 10.150 MHz has been assigned to amateur radio
on a secondary basis in India now. Though there were a few legal activities
in India on the 30m band, there was always a special permission for that
until now.
