In this cropped picture, Vernon Wayne Schulke is in the very center -- the GI with a suntan, or a sunburn, or just darker skin than the GIs around him! He's in the 4th row down from the top, or the second row up from the front. (This picture is cropped from the right-hand picture below.)

Here is Class 44-C-8, Sqdn D, 2590th AAF Base Unit, C. Training (Aircrew) This picture is from sometime between April and July 1944, at Michigan State College, Ypsilanti, MI. My Dad, Vernon Wayne Schulke, is in the second row from the front (or bottom), or the fourth row from the back (or top); the 11th man from the right, in the right-hand (2nd picture) below.
