CHARA's former home page

chara has fallen

As of June 5, 1998 Chara, w4chs, was no more. This was theConway High School Amateur Radio Association. This is unfortunate because a lot of people put a lot of time into forming the club. The former members and their former positions are:

name call sign license class position
Scott Berry KF4HAX technician plus associate member
Dave Berry KE4W extra associate member
Brian Shaw KF4HAV general president
Pat Lane none none faculty advisor

All of the members worked hard to promote ham radio at Conway High School, but there was not enough interest in ham radio for the club to continue. On June 5 Brian Shaw, kf4hav, graduated, and there is no one to take his place to keep the club running. In the future, the club may restart if students show an interest in ham radio. For now Chara is gone. The links will continue to be updated by Brian, but they will be the only things that will be updated. If the club restarts Brian will help the members post a new web page. here is a list of club and other organization sites for you to take a look at.

While you're out and about on the net, take a look at the 22 crew server

Go visit the hurricane watch net website. They are a great organization because they help out during hurricanes by relaying reports to the national hurricane center in Miami, FL.
