Ham's I Remember

ALAN R GERALDI

W6GGC I remember when I visited for the first time in my life a real sold out genuine Ham Operator that could afford what he wanted. He had a room with a walk around shelf waist high and loaded with transcievers and rigs of all sorts... operating on 6 meters... 10 meters 20 meters 40 meters and 75-80 meters all at once. He would just walk from one mike to another and had several qso's going at the same time. His wall was lined with qsl cards from all over the globe and to top it off... a clackty clackty sounding tele-type machine he had refurbished from some news agency, sitting in the corner reading off RTTY. I was mouth open amazed with him. I remember his phonetics....Golden Garbage Can GGC. Without a doubt, This was one of my richest memories....in SanFrancisco.
