Factory Alignment Mode:  To enter the Factory Alignment Mode:
1 Make sure you have a amateur frequency in MAIN VFO
2 Press and hold MONF + Internet Key + 0  (While Powering up the VX-7R)
3 Display shows [VFO 440.000 PL REF 87] <--- Your PL REF value most likely will be different.  This is normal
4 Rotate top knob one click clock-wise.   Display shows [VFO  435.100 HIS SQL 0]
5 Press the  BAND key to rotates through the 6M, 2M, 1.25M, 70CM bands
6 Once in the BAND you want to adjust, rotate the top knob to scroll though the available factory configurations
7 To change the specific value, Press V/M (option flashing), rotate top knob to desired value.  Press F/W to accept value
*press MONF and to toggle the freq display (and the settting value) between settings for the high & low end of the band
8 Once you're done making all adjustments, Press MONF, then HM/RV to save newly changed values into radio
9 If you mess something up, just power the radio off, as no values are changed.

notes:  all radios will have slightly different values due to individual radio's parts tolerances.  These settings are unique to each individual radio.  This is completely normal.  It is recommended that all original factory alignment values be written down on paper in case something goes drastically wrong with the radio, or you have adjusted something incorrectly.  The values set in your radio were carefully adjusted at the factory using sophisticated test/alignment equipment.  Please be careful when making ANY adjustments without proper test/alignment equipment.  You've been warned.

USEFULL INFORMATION
*Press V/M while powering on the VX-7R = display test (turn knob)
*Press BAND while powering on the VX-7R = toggle between "normal" mode & "memory only" mode
*Press MONF + HM/RV + INTERNET KEY while powering on the VX-7R = seems to be an undocumented way to
  enter reset mode
*Press INTERNET KEY while powering on the VX-7R  = "U" displays during the power on splash screen.  When in this mode,
multiple DTMF tones (i.e. #465 - stored in memory) are automatically  transmitted each time you PTT (if desired) rather than
the single DTMF tone used in WIRES (no "U" when powered up).
*To access AM mode in 6M, go into the menu, and select AM receive.  Radio will now TX AM as well.  This only works on 6M

BUGS & ERRORS Reported with the VX-7R
1) Distorted or low modulation - Deviation is fine on radio, but mic gain is slightly lower than VX-5R - Talk about 1 inch off mic.
2) Receive audio sometimes gets very distorted - Removing battery usually fixes problem
3) Radio locks up during monitoring a single memory channel -(must remove battery to fix)
4) Radio locks up during scanning -  (must remove battery to fix)
5) MY MENU feature not working per owners manual -
**note: these problems may or may not be duplicated in every VX-7R out there.  Your mileage may vary......

Blocked (un-restorable) Frequencies Due To FCC Cellular Restrictions in the USA
729-758Mhz (TV band right now, but will be reallocated someday for public safety & business)  Blocked for ???
774-803Mhz (TV band right now, but will be reallocated someday for public safety & business)  Blocked for ???
824-849Mhz (Analog/Digital Cellular Input Frequencies)
869-894Mhz (Analog/Digital Cellular Output Frequencies)
915-944Mhz (Analog/Digital Cellular  Input Image Frequencies)
960-989Mhz (Analog/Digital Cellular Output Image Frequencies)

*These frequencies are blocked non-restorable(at least for USA versions) - Freeband or Mars/Cap modification will NOT unlock these freqs.
