Tesla Coil Pics

These are the only pics that I have of my coil working decently.  The streamer that you see is just over a foot long and is not arcing to anything.  You can barely make out the top of the saltwater capacitors located at the bottom of the picture with alligator leads connected to rods that went inside the glass jugs.  This was operating somewhere in the 2 to 3 kva input range but not very efficiently.  The transformers were two Western Electric 240/14kv transformers connected in series with 120 on the primaries.  I used to microwave oven transformers to current limit the input to the transformers so I could basically short them out and not burn up the transformers.  The date and time on the photo is correct and that is the last time that I had a coil that powerful in operation.  I guess I need to buld another so that I can take better pictures.  When I made this coil I didn't really know that much about rf grounds and such so maybe now with a little more experience I can achieve a little more output from the coil.  This coil was wound on a 4 inch coil form and was self resonant somewhere in the 600kc range and about 400kc with the sewage float on top.  This coil self destructed in October of '98 due to operator stupidity but it really made quite a show while self destructing.  I named this coil Mr. Coil and so far I am up to Mr. Coil III.  All being smaller than the original.
