Mark Thornburg has donated a radio to our ARES group. Mark won the radio at
that Charlotte HAM-Fest and made the generous donation.

The Catawba Nuclear Drill is coming up on May 16, 2006. We
will need assistance during the drill.
Yard Sale May 6, 2006
The ARES yard sale will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 starting at
6:00 AM. We will be selling hot dogs, cornbread, and pinto beans throughout
the yard sale.

10 – Comments: *Many updates to Meck ARES Emergency Plan,
Roster, and Contact information, are almost complete for submission To
Meck Emergecy Mgmt. *We expect 6 newly licensed Boy Scouts
at the upcoming Radio Merit Badge session at Discovery Place. *The
calendar is filling in with various Walk-a-thons, bike tours, and other
public service events for 2006. Looks like another busy year for the
different Meck clubs. *Field Day plans are now in process.

Comments: We are looking forward to the coming months. ARES drills are
planned; our station at the Stanly County EOC is coming together; we (K4OGB)
are celebrating our 50th year as a Amateur Radio Club. An
exciting year. We say thank you to Aaron Deese and welcome to David
Montague, a Stanly County native. Aaron retired after 22 years and David
is stepping in as Stanly County Director of Emergency Management. We
anticipate working with David and we wish Aaron the best. Thank you Robin
WA4NLF for handling net control Wednesdays during March. We passed 1 formal
traffic.
