Note: Some of you have adjusted the number of members in your ARES group.  I do not
have a problem with your adjustment if they are non-active members or members that
you can not count on adding to or helping your group.  Keep in mind that you may have folks that are not able to travel but our available from their homes, that could be a plus.

Cabarrus 
11 - COMMENTS :Reminder.... we have moved the ARES net to 8:30pm on Tues night......... 147.3/pl136.5........... til further notice....     Looking forward to the Area 12 meeting on Feb 19.

Gaston  
12 – UPCOMING EVENTS:  We will be teaching a Technician Class again starting in February.  The class will run for seven        weeks with a test session at the end.  The classes will be taught at the Gaston County EOC on  Tuesday nights.  For further information you can contact: Joe Hullender, N4JAH at  [email protected] or go to:  http://www.gastonares.org/techclass/ham_class.pdf

We will hold a two hour Terrorist Awareness Class on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 7pm.  The class is free and will be held at the Gaston County EOC and will be taught by Tommy Almond from  Gaston County Office of Emergency Management.  We would like to invite all of the amateur  operators  area 12 counties to take part in this training.  For more information you can contact  Mike Huffstetler, KG4AWO at: [email protected]

UPCOMING EVENTS: Saturday 19 February – VE testing at the Crew Hall on North Academy Street, Lincolnton, NC.

11 COMMENTS: Thursday 6 January – Monthly meeting – Activity planning for 2005. We are going to move the Group equipment from Larry Moyer’s KG4AWV to the Crew Hall, where it will be inventoried and staged permanently. This is our field equipment and does not include the items located at the EOC.

 UPCOMING EVENTS: Saturday 19 February – VE testing at the Crew Hall on North Academy Street, Lincolnton, NC.

Mecklenburg
10 - Comments: First ARES meting of 2005 checkpointed AEC areas of interest and status.  Two new AEC's: Brian Mulder KF4VOO, AEC - response and W4OH Daryl Sampson, AEC - CMPD,CFD & MEDIC.

SM John Covington W4CC presented W4OH a plaque recognizing years of meritorious service.  Meck emergency plan is being updated with recent changes, also our
Emergency contact list.  Visiting the various Mecklenburg clubs to update roster
contact information.

Stanly
12. Up Coming Events:  40 Fun Run in Uwharrie forest February 5th.  ARES will
provide communications for 2 stations 14/26 and 20 mile station.  Moore and/or Montgomery
county will provide the remaining 6 stations.
