![]() ![]() One day back in 2021 I wanted a vintage looking clock that had local time and UTC so that I could log contacts easily. Since I usually make overseas contacts at night, it needed a soft light on it, too. Since I like the steampunk theme, I came up with a lamp that was made of iron pipe supported on a Red Oak base. A pressure gauge I got for a few bucks at the flea mall sits at the top of the iron pipe stem. The bulb is a reproduction Edison bulb. The shade I had to fabricate; I made the frame from brass wire soldered to a brass ring, and used patterened cotton sheet for the shade material. A case to the right holds two battery-powered clocks each showing it's respective time zone. I also included a four-port USB charging station into the case. The front of the case was decorated with antiqued brass gears. I stained it a dark oak and left it unfinished for a rustic look. On the top of the case I put a brass rail to define the flat top storage area ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
