The local cigar shop gives away the empty cigar boxes for free.  The desk lamp I created from stacked cigar boxes looks pretty neat, but the idea was a "secret compartment" in the bottom.  Only the bottom box opens.  The top two are glued closed.  It goes nicely in my man cave.
