The Southern Cross net North
America to Worldwide! The Southern Cross net is on 20 meters at
14.238 MHz daily from 0600 hrs to 0630 hrs Eastern time. We seem to get
a window open at that time for contacts's to Australia - and some
operators have made contacts from our beaches to Australia on only 10
watts with a portable radio. They are on most mornings but you
have to listen well as they are often just above the noise floor.
It's possible to make contacts on a vertical antenna with only 100
watts lately since the sun's cycle is active.
