| Ken and Patty (N3FZX & KB3CTO) hosted Field Day this year! | ||||
|
As 1E MDC, we operated one transmitter at a time as an emergency powered,
home operation in the Maryland/DC section.
We used an Icom 706mkIIG for SSB (voice) at about 50 watts and an Elecraft K2 on CW (Morse code) at about 10 watts. |

N3FZX in actionKen operates as Jon logs the contacts. Once again, we used logging software from N8KLX and it worked out pretty well. |

Wild fire on the barbie!Ken and Allan do the manly dance around the fire... |
Allan gets an eye full of smoke! But you can see the solar panel catching the last bit of sun in the background... |

Late night operatingIt got pretty chilly this year. (It deffinately helped with reducing the bug problem.) We operated until ~2am, hit the sack, and resumed operating at ~9:30am sunday. |
