Kansas City DX Club members Steve, KM0L, and Bill, K0VBU, travelled east across Missouri to the Hannibal multi-multi contest station of K4VX, Lew Gordon, and his XYL, Terri, NS0Z, to operate in the 1998 CQ Worldwide CW DX Contest. They were joined by John, K2VV, and Karl, K9BGL, of the St. Louis area; Jim, N9JF, from east of Quincy, Illinois; and Stan, K5GO, Kevin, N5DX, Les, K5LG and Chuck, KM5G from the Harrison, Arkansas area.
Operating assignments were confirmed by Lew, K4VX, at Terri's (NS0Z) great spaghetti dinner immediately before the contest:
160: N9JF; 80: K9BGL, K5LG; 40: KM5G; 20 K2VV, K0VBU; 15 K5GO, N5DX;
10: KM0L, K0VBU.
