Four different views of some of the "Tye Gang" equipment in Everett Washington on their way north to Vancouver B.C.

One member of the gang told me that they could change out about 2000 tyes per shift.

The top-right photo shows both the "high line", and the "low line". The BNSF Everett depot is visible at the far right of the frame. This is where Amtrak stops too. The "high line" is the Great Northern line that goes east to Chicago thru the longest tunnel in north America. The Cascade tunnel. And the "low line" is the Northern Pacific that goes to Vancouver B.C.

The bottom right view is of the "low line" facing north. Where I'm standing is MP 1784.0 on the Great Northern line, and about MP 32.2 on the Northern Pacific line.

These two photos were taken in October of '98 at the Everett BNSF, (Amtrak) depot on the "low-line", (NP) about MP 32.4. Someone drew a picture of the GN logo in chalk. A few days went by and the rain washed it away.

More photos of things you don't see everyday will be placed in this page as time permits.
