Pat Ryan KC6VVT is an active amateur radio operator and operated under other
call signs, first licensed as WN9SLK in 1966 and later as KB6NUG. Pat gardens,
travels and and works part time for a major electronics retailer, and enjoys
early retirement from a 32 year professional and trade career with the Navy
Department.
Pat lives now in his hometown of Tonica, in Eden Township, LaSalle Co,
IL. KC6VVT is an ARRL member, 10-10 #59021, NCVA FruPac, AL Post 260, Dept
of IL, and a member and former Director of the Starved Rock Radio Club W9MKS.
KC6VVT is currently the Section Emergency Coordinator of the ARRL Illinois
Section. Pat was a former Assistant Section Manager for the ARRL San Diego
Section, served as the ARES and ARRL San Diego Section Emergency Coordinator,
and SDG Southern District EC, and as an NTS Net Control and Official Relay
Station. He is a former member of SoBay ARS, Hilltop ARC, and Palomar ARC
there.
Pat spoke at the 1999 ARRL Southwestern Division Convention on the Queen
Mary and at various amateur radio clubs in the greater San Diego area on
the subject of APRS, or geolocation with radio and the Global Position System.
KC6VVT lived in Europe over 5 years and traveled extensively, including visits
to relatives in Ireland. He has also been on personal DXpeditions (KP4USN
Guest Op) and to various world wide locations as an Electronics Technician
and Antenna Specialist.
