DMR is it worth it

When the HF bands are dead DMR will put you in touch with the whole world with global networks

You can have a private conversation between 2 radios (DMR User ID's) that can not be monitored by anyone other than the network admins

You can send and receive GPS locations and get the distance from you to them

You can send a call alert to your friends letting them know you want to talk

You can use DMR at home with your own little low powered DMR hotspot, kind of like having a digital repeater you can use at home or in the mobile all it needs in an Internet connection

DMR audio quality is way better than FM, there is no scratchy signals, no picket fencing, no white noise, the clarity of the voice quality is amazing.

There are no anonymous, the key word here is anonymous smart mouthed comments or jamming, no playing music or using foul language on DMR.
Everyone is held accountable, when you use DMR your credentials are logged. When there is a problem the offending operator is removed with a few strokes of an admins keyboard....bye bye.
If someone misbehaves on digital radio the network administrators can just block a user or even ban then, no need to mail a certified letter and go to the FCC.
Because DMR networks are private personal and sometimes proprietary property there is no entitlement to access, like with a business the right to refuse applies to DMR networks to.

If you have the technical ability to get a ham radio license you can learn DMR, its not as bad as you hear other complaining about,do not let the negative haters discourage you from at least trying it out.

Once you get your head wrapped around DMR and its function you will be fine, there is a just a few terms and jargon to learn but once you have the nomenclature deciphered it won't be that confusing.
