I just recently undertook a project. I am involved in ham radio and I enjoy mountain biking. The only way to bring the two hobbies together was with a 5 watt handheld radio. In certain areas, the signal reliability left a lot to be desired. I soon realized that a 50 watt mobile radio with a good antenna with its own counterpoise made a lot of sense. I will soon be adding pictures and giving a more detailed description of the project and the equipment I used to achieve my goals.
