Words to live by...

I was introduced to von Karmen Vortices through my work on Prof. Glasser's astronaut photography program back at UN-Kearney. There was a picture of the vortices off of the island of Guadalupe, near the California coast.

Here is what the vortices look like from the Space Shuttle.

I was able to recreate von Karmen Vortices in the lab once during school, using rheoscopic fluid, and a large temperature gradient to drive the flow. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me. I am planning on trying to accomplish this again sometime in the near future...the pics will appear here.
