VERY quick update...
Sorry about the lapse in contact...almost 2.5 months since the last mass email...here is why
June 15- Went hiking with Stacy, Mike, and Cynicka down in the Miller Creek Valley. One of the best days of hiking I have had here...and it was all without trails! What fun!

June 16-NY Times publishes a front page story about climate warming in Alaska, using silly stupid numbers, something like 7 degrees F in the last 30 years, when it is more like 2.5 degrees. The number is used in op/eds and articles all over the world. Chaos ensues.

June 18-25-Ruth and Andy (my sister and her husband) arrive for a week of incredible sights and sounds as we take a whirlwind tour of Alaska. Chaos ensues.
The Story is coming soon...please excuse my lack of action.
Enjoy the pictures, though

July 17-21-I travel to Los Angeles, California to be a groomsmen in the wedding of my great friend Scott Phillips to Julie. Chaos ensues. Just kidding. It was a truly great weekend, filled with old friends and new, baseball, bowling, bad dancing, sunscreen ("EEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!"), and no little bit of Arnold Schwarzenegger quotes. Oh, and I lost at poker...and had to propose to Tim.

This week:
I am going to be in Asheville, North Carolina for the meeting
of the American Association of State Climatologists. Chaos ensues.
I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers that my travels
go well and that I don't melt in those vicious mid-latitude temperatures...it
has been lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s here...brr. And
yes, the heating boiler is on in my apartment building a week
before the little kidding start back to school...gotta love Alaska!
My great pal Cpl. Leland Jordon is planning to drive down to hang out with me on Saturday in Asheville. Then it is off to Seattle for a day and a half of fun with my brother Keith and his family on my way back to Alaska.
Saturday is the 10 year anniversary of the strike of Hurricane Andrew in south Florida. Cool. Also, Saturday marks the beginning of another year of college football!!! Go Huskers and Wolverines!
Anyway, that is about it. Hope to hear from all of you soon.
